After days of madness, I finally get my green wall...!
The blue paint was too dark and it makes me feel so down and moody.
Originally I had wanted to have it painted apple green, but they have that colour in stock ( in stock means ... leftover paints...! ) So I settled for blue, its not the correct blue either. So in the end, the painter agreed to help me mix blue and yellow to get a green. It didnt turn out to be apple green, just slightly darker in shade. But that will do, it does help to brighten the room anyway. So the whole of yesterday was spent trying to sort out my junks and it is almost 70% done. An improvement since I am able to see more of the floor space.One step at a time.Packing and unpacking are most tedious and it gives me a headache.
The past couple of days, the weather has been rather unfriendly with strong winds and sandstorms. So everything on the balcony has turn to shades of brown with sand coatings.

Not a good day ...
Wednesday fourth of July 2006.
Not a good day. The work load keep piling up and time is running short.Datelines.
Datelines. My leave has been deferred for another 9 days. If not I would have been home by now. But here I am faced with an expected problem. I say "expected" since we have predicted and see it coming. I am sure the whole 'gang' knew it all along but not breathing a word to the management. They speak and mumble and ramble in their language, and only they understand. I had always made the deduction that if they dont talk in a common language when you are around, that means they do not want you to know what they are talking about. Its not that great a loss, with his salary figure we could hire two other people. No love loss anyway, but it is still not a proper way to resign. Another case of 'ungrateful' after all that the company has given him and his family.
So how we place a trust in people from this particular country ? They claimed to be very sensitive natured people, a small thing would always 'hurt' their feelings, but what about the things that they did that hurt other people. Do they see it that way ? Respect, tolerance, understanding, communication and infact everything in life is a two way street.
I am already up to my nose with this particular people/country. Its a long history, since when I was in Singapore. Its a tarnished reputation, no matter how much I tried to respect them or think and hope that they are different, they always disappoint me in the end.

Tuesday fourth of july
Yesterday, ken was back in the office after his vacation. And it was Jannie's turn to go for her summer. Mine was supposed to be tomorrow but had to rescheduled it due to some work commitment.
Ken brought back a lot of interesting chocolates and sweets. Chocolates with green tea filling, chocolates with cactus filling etc. I was hoping for kim chee.
Last nite had a talk with JAF and have a learnt a lot of things that she claimed that "hurt" their feelings, like they feel that I do not take care of them. A lot of sensitive issues were brought up. But she forgot that for everything there has to be a reaction. She forgot how she and the rest of the gang have isolated themselves and ganged up. if she feels that she is sensitive and feels hurt, so is the others.
There has been too much going ons in the back ground. An older staff that has been putting poison in their minds. People tends to get greedy and start comparing.
So today we had another session with the boss. Looks like they are going to get some overtime pay. We'll see how they perform after this. They were working late this evening to finish the projects. Hope this will be a good start.

Another of those days when everybody is out on site. So we had some peace in the office. No 1 is jumpy and not in a very approachable mood. No 2 seems agitated.
In the evening I managed to go and collect my abaya and got a few scarves and fabrics to bring home. Had some vegetarian food for dinner in town. Pooris with korma and masala tea. And by the time I got home, I was feeling hungry again.

Saturday ... what a day

Spent the whole of friday trying to clean up the place and still I have 30% more to make it liveable...!!
Cant wait to see the guys who went on strike last thursday afternoon.But I guess conceited people feel no remorse.
Well, they trooped into the department later than me, so I had the pleasure of looking at their faces.
So I asked him.." hows your headache..." he said last thursday that he wanted to take the afternoon off, because he had a severe headache, that he would stay home. I asked if I could call him, should I need his help...and he replied ..."NO"...pointing at his head which is supposed to be aching.
And JAF too said that she will not want to work in the afternoon and that she too will be at home.
Anyway, last thursday evening I noticed that their apartment was in the dark... so couldnt be that they are at home...!!!
So I guess they have made plans. Its ok if you want to have time off to go out on a thursday afternoon if you have finished all your work, but please do not lie to me.
The fact that they have so many outstanding urgent jobs and refused to finish them on time, does not really look good for their work performance.
Thus from now onwards, I shall give them a dateline which they must adhere to.
Sympathies and understanding should not be given freely.
It is not easy to manage people, you try to have compassion, but they misused it.
