A Simpler Lifestyle ...?

February 16th 2007
Budaiya

I have been reading a few blogs and there have have been a few bloggers and people that I know who are at the crossroads in life. Guess I am not alone, am I supposed to feel good knowing that I am not alone ?

A friend who resigned from his job to prepare for a world trip, but ended up with something else after the trip was called off.

Some lady friends are seriously thinking about setting up her own business.
One is a housewife who has a lot of time and talent in her hands.
Another is thinking of leaving her job to start a new venture.

After you reached a certain points in life, priorities changed. Life is not just work and work alone. It is no longer about making money, It is no longer who can stay longer to make more money. Life is not all about getting all stressed up and having nightmares.
Money will never be enough. But we will soon learn to live within our means.

Life is short. Life is unpredictable.
Have we done all that we need to do in this life... for we only have one chance. The clock doesnt turned back in time. The past is gone, and we can only look forward to whatever is left of the future.
How much time do we have...no one knows.
But we can certainly start anew before it is too late.

A simpler lifestyle.
Away from all the rats and rat race.

All you rodents can run round and round chasing your ultimate goals...but one day... you will missed a step and get your tail trapped.

Amen. I am currently chasing my own tail in the pursuit of happiness. Good luck.

Interesting. Actually, it all depends on what you think is your ideal life and based on that, you plan your next steps and set your work ethic gauge.

I second June's last comment, good luck :).

hi June,
I guess I would still chase my own tail, but on a slower pace. Hope you will find your happiness and succeed in all your strides.

haha... I gave up my tail and now has none to chase!

I'm just so sick of this rat race. I'm retiring. Call me, let's have a cup of tea and watch the other rats race. hahaha.......

That sounds nice, I will visit you and have that cup of tea when I am in singapore.

I love your writings Ammoontie!

I myself will start a new life this year. A more relaxed (and I hope not monotonous) one.
November 1th I will stop working,
because I reached a certain age and I got the opportunity to stop.

Have a nice weekend!

hi anon,
You are right..!!!
A RAT is still a RAT...
The diff here these rats drives BMWs, Jeeps, Mercs...

Driving BMWs, Mercs and Jeeps does not make them better Rats. They are still filthy and smelly.

ammoontie said...

hi anon,
I have to agree with you, they are still rats. But its nice to observe how these rats scurry around...

They are not only filthy rats, they are also phonies. I have known those rats and phonies long before I stumbled on your interesting blog.
I loathed them all.

hi anon,
we have half a dozen rodents here (imported rats )and few more blind mice..!! oh boy..glad that I dont need to cross their paths anymore.

Guess what ammoontie, I was reading an article last weekend. The title of the article was 'I smell a rat'. The article starts with "Ooh, you filthy, dirty things". "It is about a dead rat. It took six weeks for the smell of dead rat to die down. And still it hasn't gone completely. That's because, when a rat dies in the pipes, its friends can't help wanting to have a look. Then they themselves die and have to decompose, and so on so and so on". Let's hope that the 'imported rats' and the 'blind mice' end up in the pipes. We all don't have to deal with them ever again.

hi anon,
That sure is an interesting story, when the rodents and the mice couldnt help but snooping on each other, and ended up in the same predicament.
You know..that certainly had put a smile on my lovely morning today...
( now I am being cruel..!)

That's fine. You are just being human. Nothing cruel about your reaction. It is a touch of humour too. We need it - don't you think so? Sabahaljasmine?

hi anon,
Actually I relish at the thought of all those rodents heaped on top of each other in the pipe.
