Ten simple things...

February 18th 2007

Ten simple things that make me smile and say.."Life is good"

1) Waking up in the early morning, I love the cool morning breeze, it is so refereshing and watching the sun coming up slowly and the day gets brighter by the minute. A beautiful start to a new day.

2)My first cup of tea, my comfort food to warm up my soul.

3)Going about my daily duties, greetings from friends and workers, people from all walks of life.

4)No bad news for the day, which means things are okay.

5)Phonecalls, SMS, emails from those people who remembers me and treat me as their friends.

6)When people read my blogs, leaving positive thoughts and I am glad that I have met them through the blogosphere.

7)Enjoying smooth rides in the country sides, while listening to my favourite musics.

8)Food... I love food. I love to see food, tasting them, learning how to cook them, trying new recipes and sharing them with friends.

9)Enjoying good health, the most important thing in life. I pray that God will grant good health to all my family and friends and those people that have been good to me.

10)When I am able to render a small help to someone who is in need.

Hi there, I agree with you. It is always good to wake up in the morning, feeling positive. Whether yesterday was a bad day or a good day, take it as an experience. You are in a University of Life now and there are alot more chapters in a book to be learned.
I like to share with you an inspirational Poem by Rudyard Kipling. I am sure you know about this Poem 'If'.
If
If you can keep your head
when all about you men are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you but make allowances for their doubting, too.
If you can wait but not be tired of waiting, or being lied about, don't
deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating, and yet don't look too good nor talk too wise.
If you can think and not make dreams your master,
if you can think and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet triumph and disaster,
and treat those two imposters just the same,
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, and stoop and build them up with worn-out tools,
If you can make one heap of all your winnings and risk it on one turn of pitch and toss, and lose
and start again at your beginnings
and never breath a word about your loss,
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
to serve your turn long after they are gone, and to hold on when there is nothing in you but the will that says to them "hold on,"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
or walk with kings nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
if all men count with you but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute with 60 seconds worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everthing that's in it,
and which is more, you'll be a man, my son!
Treat a new day like a fresh canvas for you to sketch or paint on it.

hi anon,
Thats a nice poem, and indeed very inspiring. I specially like the last sentence...
"Treat a new day like a fresh canvas for you to sketch or paint on it"
...For life is what we make of it...At The university of life ..there is no graduation ! Each day is a learning process. If we had used all of our yesterdays to guide all our tomorrows... we might be okay...keep our eyes open and our minds positive all the time.

That's good. By the way, the last part that you liked was not by Rudyard Kipling. That's only my comment in general, how we should deal with life in the morning. It is true that keeping an open mind and be positive especially when you wake up in the morning is a good exercise to stay positive. If you feel depressed in the morning, you don't see any point to go on with life anymore. Alhamdullilah, it is good to hear that you like mornings. That's a good sign. It means you will continue fighting with whatever comes along the way.

hi anon,
It is actually good to welcome the morning as yet another day, another chance to do good; to better ourselves and to appreciate what life has to offer.
